B.R.A.G. IN DOWNTOWN BRUNSWICK

SATURDAY, JUNE 10TH 2017

It was a warm and sunny afternoon at the Mary Ross Waterfront park when thousands of cyclists came in on their final stretch of the BRAG (Bicycle Ride Across Georgia) event. Held every three years, BRAG hosts what they call their Big BRAG and this year they came to downtown Brunswick. From 12 to 3:30 we had food, live music from Skeeter Truck, and the Farmers Market selling produce and treats.

2ND ANNUAL GOLDEN ISLES PREP RALLY

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26TH 2017

Golden Isles Prep Rally

Free, fun, and informative, the Golden Isles Prep Rally community preparedness rally focuses on Safe Boating and disaster planning with the spotlight on hurricane and coastal flooding on Saturday, May 20th at the Mary Ross Waterfront Park. We're holding this event in conjunction with National Safe Boating Week, so everyone can find out where to go and how to return after an evacuation.

Many important topics will be covered, including learning how to pack an evacuation bag for the whole family and pets, where to go and how to return after an evacuation, and what to do when an evacuation is ordered for our coastal region.

This fun and unique fair like event is going to directly address those questions and fears that everyone has, specifically focusing on our immediate coastal area putting minds at ease. We believe that after attending this unique outreach, local folks will better understand how to establish an individual and family disaster plan for communication and evacuation of loved ones in an orderly manner. Learn more at http://gipreprally.com/ or come find us at First Friday May 5th from 5 pm to 8 pm in Downtown Brunswick!

The Live Oaks Garden Club donated $5,000 to the improvement of this park. Our own commissioner, Mrs. Julie Martin came and planted throughout the square for the new design, meant to improve the lifespan of the live oak now planted in the center of the square.
